  1. Swash London :: AW 2012

    September 25, 2012 by Erin Fletcher

    This Autumn collection of scarves reminds me of two things: the soft effect achieved through drawing with colored pencils and the scarf collection my Mother owned in the early 90’s which were patterned with large gold chains. Bringing together images of fall and wildlife with clock mechanics and metal armor, Swash London’s AW 2012 collection harmonizes a range of colors (from pastels to fire reds and royal purples) to draped fabrics, form fitting garments and patterned tights. On top of everything are the wonderful selections of hats from the Balmoral bonnet to an equestrian style helmet fitted with a pompom.

  2. Karla Spetic :: Fall 2012

    Using Roy Lichtenstein’s imagery as inspiration for her Fall 2012 collection, Karla Spetic creates a brand new color palette for the famous art, rich in blush, baby blue and dove grey. These subdued colors are a perfect match against the addition of leopard prints, lipstick reds and acid yellows. All around a perfect balance, creating a light, playful feminine collection with a hint of edge.  I’m especially drawn to the silk organza skirted dresses.

  3. Leandro Dominguez :: Winter 2012

    August 9, 2012 by Erin Fletcher

    Leandro Dominguez has filled his Winter 2012 collection with oversized knits and skirts paired with tailored trousers and structural jackets in appropriate colors of the season plus a hint of persimmon. Imagery of flora and fauna reminiscent of block prints are peppered throughout, transforming ordinary garments into wearable art. Pieces throughout this collection mix feminine styles with cuts inspired by menswear; all appearing comfortable, young and stylish.

  4. If Only…

    To say that I love sunglasses is an understatement.  I would die for a pair of Karen Walker shades, especially the pair above from her Summer 2012 collection: Karen’s Little Aliens.

  5. Stella Jean :: Spring Summer 2012

    July 31, 2012 by Erin Fletcher

    Stella Jean’s Spring Summer 2012 collection marries a variety of cultures through contrasting fabrics, cuts and silhouettes.  Patterns inspired by African batik prints take center stage in each piece of this collection, competing against bulky jewels, slick hats and striped belts.

  6. MSGM :: Woman Pre-Fall 2012

    July 18, 2012 by Erin Fletcher

    Massimo Giorgetti in partnership with the Paoloni Group created the brand MSGM in 2008.  Season after season MSGM stays fresh by mixing captivating new ideas and current trends inspired by the expressive aesthetic of contemporary musicians and artists.  The Pre-Fall 2012 line layers kaleidoscopic shapes on top of florals on top of saturated brights into feminine and sophisticated silhouettes.
